About Me
Olayiwola is a real estate market analyst, researcher, and educator. He is currently a Lecturer in Real Estate at the University of Sheffield and Co-Lead of Shef.AI Urban, Innovation and Pedagogy Interest Groups. He is also the Co-Founder of Bloomshill and Lead Research, Analytics, and Academy. Olayiwola holds a PhD in Real Estate Economics from the Henley Business School, University of Reading, an MSc in International Real Estate Investment and Finance from Nottingham Trent University, and a BTech in Estate Management from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Nigeria. He is an RICS-Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) and a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Previously, he worked as a Lecturer in Real Estate and Property Management at Leeds Beckett University and a Teaching Fellow at the Henley Business School, University of Reading. Prior to joining academia, he built his career in international real estate professional practice in the private and public sectors.
Olayiwola specialises in real estate economics with core interests in real estate digital applications (PropTech), operational real estate, residential real estate, and urban markets. He has published his research output in several highly-ranked journals and his research has been presented at several international conferences in France, Italy, China, the United States of America, the Netherlands, Zambia, Singapore, Germany, and the United Kingdom. He is currently a reviewer for international peer-reviewed journals within his areas of interest and co-editor of the Digital Technology and Innovation in Real Estate Special Issue in the Journal of European Real Estate Research. Over the years, he has led and collaborated on several research projects. He was the lead investigator on the PropTech Education Integration Framework development following the award of the University College of Estate Management Harold Samuel Research Prize in 2020. He also won the 2022 UK PropTech Association Special Achievement Award. Olayiwola is enthusiastic about developing and promoting innovation in the real estate sector.
